LaDawn Talbott: Plastic Surgeon, Fitness Competitor, and Fit Mom & Grandma
“I’ve always enjoyed being fit and working out, but I never really made it a priority,” says LaDawn Talbott, a Board-certified Reno plastic surgeon and fitness enthusiast. “I’ve always made the excuse of not having enough time.”
But gone are the days of making excuses. These days LaDawn not only makes time to work out, she’s committed to staying fit and living healthier – a commitment that led her to joining various fitness competitions in Nevada this year. How exactly did the transformation from fitness enthusiast to fitness competitor happen?
Inspiration and Motivation
Like all great things, LaDawn’s transformation started with a spark of inspiration. That inspiration, LaDawn says, was one of her patients. This patient was Vickie Francovich, an amazing 60-year-old mother and businesswoman, who also happened to be a strong advocate of fitness and wellness. “I saw her and I said to myself, ‘When I’m 60, this is what I want to be like’”, says LaDawn. “I want to be able to look back at my life and feel like I did the best I could with my health.”
Vickie, however, is not the only person LaDawn draws inspiration from. The other person is none other than her daughter Celeste. When Celeste noticed LaDawn going to the gym more often than usual and saw the results, she decided she wanted to do it, too. Pretty soon, LaDawn and her daughter were working out together. “We motivate each other, and we look forward to seeing each other and spending time together.”
