Neck lift procedures provide another effective way to improve one’s appearance. This cosmetic surgery involves removing excess skin or fat from under the chin and on the neck, and repositioning the remaining tissue to produce a firmer, more elegant neckline and a well-defined jaw contour. While facial aging is inevitable, neck lift procedures can refresh the way your neck and jawline looks.
Dr. LaDawn Talbott in Reno, NV uses a variety of advanced techniques to improve the appearance of the neck, including liposuction, cervicoplasty, and platysmaplasty. These state-of-the-art techniques make neck lift surgery a safe and relatively quick procedure that dramatically enhances aesthetic appearance.
“I had a consultation for a lower neck lift. Dr. Talbott was very professional and informative about the procedure, recovery time, and results that I could expect. I felt very comfortable with the initial consultation and plan on scheduling the procedure.

Neck Lift Procedure
During the neck lift procedure, incisions are made behind the ears and/ or below the chin. Liposuction can be used to remove excess fat in the neck, producing a slimmer and smoother neck contour. Excess skin is then secured in its new position with fine sutures or a special adhesive. Platsymaplasty, a technique that is used to realign or remove special areas of neck muscle, may also be performed to reduce the amount of “banding” in the neck. Sutures are used to hold the muscle in the optimum place. The entire neck lift procedure takes up to three hours and is often performed in conjunction with a facelift surgery, endoscopic brow lift, laser skin resurfacing, BOTOX injections, or another cosmetic treatment for an amazing transformation.
Neck Lift Surgery Recovery
Recovery from neck lift surgery usually lasts at least one week and final results may not be visible for a few months, but for most patients it is well worth it. A slimmer neckline can create an illusion of dramatic weight loss and can even promote a more youthful appearance. Some swelling and bruising are normal after neck lift surgery, but these side effects should disappear within one week. Dr. Talbott will recommend compression bandages to facilitate faster healing. Most patients are able to return to work within two weeks after surgery. To find out whether neck lift surgery is right for you, contact Talbott Plastic Surgery Center in Reno.
