LaDawn Talbott: On Staying Fit, Healthy, and Motivated
“I’ve always enjoyed being fit and working out, but I never really made it a priority,” says LaDawn Talbott, a Board-certified Reno plastic surgeon and fitness enthusiast. “I’ve always made the excuse of not having enough time.”
But gone are the days of making excuses. These days LaDawn not only makes time to work out, she’s committed to staying fit and living healthier – a commitment that led her to joining various fitness competitions in Nevada this year. How exactly did the transformation from fitness enthusiast to fitness competitor happen?
Inspiration and Motivation
Like all great things, LaDawn’s transformation started with a spark of inspiration. That inspiration, LaDawn says, was one of her patients. This patient was Vickie Francovich, an amazing 60-year-old mother and businesswoman, who also happened to be a strong advocate of fitness and wellness. “I saw her and I said to myself, ‘When I’m 60, this is what I want to be like’”, says LaDawn. “I want to be able to look back at my life and feel like I did the best I could with my health.”
Vickie, however, is not the only person LaDawn draws inspiration from. The other person is none other than her daughter Celeste. When Celeste noticed LaDawn going to the gym more often than usual and saw the results, she decided she wanted to do it, too. Pretty soon, LaDawn and her daughter were working out together. “We motivate each other, and we look forward to seeing each other and spending time together.”

A Quick Look at Silicone Breast Implants
One of the big decisions women have to make when they come in for a breast augmentation consultation at our Reno clinic is which type of breast implant they’ll go with: Saline-filled or silicone gel-filled breast implants?
As most of you already know, breast augmentation is a popular cosmetic surgical procedure, not just in Reno, but across the United States. This means that hundreds of thousands of women have taken the step toward more shapely breasts and pleasing figures. This also means that breast augmentation surgery is a widely practiced and safe procedure.
Questions to Ask Your Plastic Surgeon
Searching for a plastic surgeon in Reno or in the surrounding areas is easy; a quick search on Google will yield numerous results. You check out their websites and wade your way through so much information. After some more research, you think you’ve finally found the plastic surgeon for you. You schedule a consultation and are left thinking, “What kind of questions should I ask?”
The consultation is a crucial part of the process; it’s the perfect time to know more about your plastic surgeon. It sounds like such an obvious advice – “Get to know your plastic surgeon” – but it’s surprisingly overlooked. In our practice, we find that some patients are too intimidated, hesitant, or embarrassed to ask questions.
With more and more people considering plastic surgery in Reno, it’s an absolute must for would-be patients to know the right questions before undergoing any procedure. We recommend would-be patients to ask these six questions:
Wrinkle Free: Getting a Facelift in Reno
“You look tired.” It sounds like an innocent enough observation, especially if it comes from someone you know cares about you. But wait…you don’t actually feel tired! Then your hands immediately fly to your face and you wonder, Do I look old?
It’s nothing to be ashamed of. Even the best of us have looked in the mirror and said, “Wow, the years are really catching up on me.” Aging is a natural process and, sooner or later, we will all have to succumb to wrinkles, creases, and sagging caused by old age. But the great news is, modern technology has made it possible to slow and improve the signs of aging.
Facial plastic surgery, anyone?
Mommy Makeover: The Big Questions
You’ve survived pregnancy, labor, and nursing; you’ve also somehow figured out how to operate without sleep. Now you ask yourself, “How on earth will I get my pre-pregnancy body back?”
In our Mommy Makeover Mania in Reno post, we covered the basics: The Mommy Makeover, which is offered at Talbott Plastic Surgery Center, is really three procedures combined into one surgical session. It incorporates breast augmentation or breast lift, a tummy tuck, and liposuction. This all-in-one plastic surgery procedure is tailor-made for mothers who wish to reclaim their pre-baby contouring and also reverse some of the physical changes brought about by bearing, birthing, and nursing their children.
We’ve got the basics down, but some questions still linger: When is the right time to do it? What can I expect in terms of recovery? What should I tell my children? Ask no more. We provide the answers to some of the most common questions about the Mommy Makeover.
Tummy Tucks and Liposuction: How They Measure Up
Let’s face it: A flat, well-toned abdomen is something most of us actively strive for or at least passively wish for. Unfortunately, exercise, diet, and countless hours of wishful thinking don’t always get us the desired results. So, we research the cosmetic surgery procedures available and are bombarded with all the information. There’s the tummy tuck and mini-tummy tuck, but then there’s also liposuction! We’re ready for some kind of midsection makeover, but which one is best?
All three cosmetic surgery procedures are extremely popular among women who have lost their yesteryear stomach contouring and mothers who seek to reclaim their pre-baby physiques. The Talbott Plastic Surgery Center in Reno is giving you the skinny on them.
Breast Augmentation: Good Questions, Easy Answers
After a lot of thought, you’ve finally decided: You want fuller, better-shaped breasts, but you still have so many questions. You’re not alone; women who look to improve their breast size and symmetry often share the same concerns and wonder about the same issues. Here at Talbott Plastic Surgery Center in Reno, we strive to set all of our patients’ minds at ease, resolve all concerns, and discover the best way forward for their breast augmentation procedure.
So, what are the most common concerns and frequently asked questions?
The Mommy Makeover Mania
All right, mom, you’ve done it! After sailing through a blissful pregnancy, you’re now gliding through life’s longest exercise in patience, compassion, and self-sacrifice. Children are absolutely precious, and there is almost nothing moms wouldn’t endure to keep them safe and happy. But, given the choice, most moms would pass on the lasting physical changes that pregnancy and child rearing so generously bestow on tummies, breasts, thighs, and more.
But fear not, moms, because the perfect Mommy Makeover has arrived in Reno’s Talbott Plastic Surgery Center.
Wait—What’s a Mommy Makeover?
Is Liposuction for You?
Is liposuction the way to go? How do you know if it’s the right type of cosmetic surgery for you?
If you’re serious about improving your body contour through plastic surgery, then you almost certainly know something about liposuction. It’s a procedure specifically designed to remove stubborn areas of fat that diet and exercise just don’t seem to reach. Liposuction wasn’t ever intended to remove substantially large amounts of fat from the entire body nor is it effective in controlling obesity; it’s also not a cellulite removal solution. It really is for specific targeting of fatty deposits that just don’t seem to improve regardless of how many sit-ups, lunges, or leg lifts you do. The procedure is most commonly performed on the buttocks, hips, abdomen, thighs, hips, and face. It is extremely safe, affordable, and immensely popular, as millions of slimmer, fitter patients around the world will readily attest to.
