Reno liposuction and laser liposuction - learn more!
No matter how many hours you exercise on a given week or how painstakingly you plan your healthy diet, there is a chance you’ll find excess fat, those annoying little imperfections in certain areas of your body. Sometimes, genetics just gets in the way of the things we want like a toned and sculpted physique, for instance.

This is where liposuction comes in and saves the day, or at least corrects these imperfections. The advances in plastic surgery technology, however, makes deciding which liposuction technique to get a little tricky, especially if you haven’t yet sought the advice of a Board-certified Reno plastic surgeon. If you’re still researching, it’s best to find out the difference between traditional and laser liposuction.

The Tummy Tuck: Battling the Bulge

October 8th, 2015 (No Comments)

Get a tummy tuck in Reno today! If you’ve gone through a huge weight loss (or if you’ve had a few kids), you probably have some extra fat and sagging skin in your abdominal area. It’s perfectly normal; a lot of women are battling the bulge, just like you. It’s also perfectly normal to feel insecure and to want to do something about it. So, you exercise a lot and put yourself on a strict diet. The sad truth is, regular exercise and diet don’t always tame the tummy.

A tummy tuck, also known as abdominoplasty, can get rid of unwanted belly fat and achieve what diets and exercise regimens could not. It’s designed to remove stubborn fat deposits and sagging or “hanging” skin in the abdominal area, and tighten the abdominal muscles. The result is a flatter, more toned stomach.

LaDawn Talbott's Reno Health Tip: Matcha Green Tea

Reno health tip from Dr. Talbott: Drink some matcha green tea!

Heard of matcha green tea, but haven’t tried it yet? You should! In today’s hectic lifestyle, you need an energy booster, as well as a natural stress reliever. You’ll find both in the wonderful matcha green tea, something that Dr. LaDawn Talbott herself swears by.

“I love matcha powder! For me it’s better than caffeine,” says Dr. Talbott, a Board-certified Reno plastic surgeon who’s also a fitness and wellness advocate. She’s scheduled to compete at the NPC Tahoe Show on August 22. “I don’t like caffeine pre-workout, and I think matcha powder is great for pre-workout, because it doesn’t give you that instant jittery feeling you sometimes get with coffee.”

Plastic Surgery vs Fitness

August 11th, 2015 (No Comments)

Fitness and Plastic Surgery in RenoYou don’t always see the words “plastic surgery” and “fitness” together in one sentence. We’ve heard the arguments: Plastic surgery is a shortcut for those who don’t want to exercise. Plastic surgery is the lazy way to achieving a slimmer physique. The list goes on. There are those who advocate fitness and healthy living, emphasizing that all-natural is the way to go, while there are others who opt for plastic or cosmetic surgery. It seems these two camps – plastic surgery and fitness – can’t reconcile.

Guess what? This doesn’t have to be an “either/ or” debate. As Dr. LaDawn Talbott succinctly puts it, “Fitness and plastic surgery actually go together.” (And she should know: Not only is she a Board-certified plastic surgeon in Reno, she’s also a fitness and bodybuilding enthusiast set to compete at the Tahoe Show!)

Vickie Francovich: Dr. Talbott’s Inspiration

When Vickie Francovich walked into the Talbott Plastic Surgery Center for a consultation, little did she know that she would be a spark of inspiration in someone’s life. That life happened to be none other than Dr. LaDawn Talbott’s.

Dr. Talbott, a fitness enthusiast, has always been honest about how she felt about working out. “I’ve always enjoyed working out, but I never really made it a priority,” she said. But that all changed when Vickie came into her office, and inspired her to get fit and healthy.

“She is just my inspiration; I mean, this lady is 60, and I saw her and I said to myself, ‘When I’m 60, this is what I want to be like’,” says Dr. Talbott. “Vickie is gorgeous, she’s beautiful, she’s busy, but she still makes herself a priority; she makes time for herself.”

Just who is Vickie Francovich, and what is it about her that makes her so inspiring?

LaDawn Talbott: On Staying Fit, Healthy, and Motivated

LaDawn Talbott: Plastic Surgeon, Fitness Competitor, and Fit Mom & Grandma

“I’ve always enjoyed being fit and working out, but I never really made it a priority,” says LaDawn Talbott, a Board-certified Reno plastic surgeon and fitness enthusiast. “I’ve always made the excuse of not having enough time.”

But gone are the days of making excuses. These days LaDawn not only makes time to work out, she’s committed to staying fit and living healthier – a commitment that led her to joining various fitness competitions in Nevada this year. How exactly did the transformation from fitness enthusiast to fitness competitor happen?

Inspiration and Motivation
Like all great things, LaDawn’s transformation started with a spark of inspiration. That inspiration, LaDawn says, was one of her patients. This patient was Vickie Francovich, an amazing 60-year-old mother and businesswoman, who also happened to be a strong advocate of fitness and wellness. “I saw her and I said to myself, ‘When I’m 60, this is what I want to be like’”, says LaDawn. “I want to be able to look back at my life and feel like I did the best I could with my health.”

Vickie, however, is not the only person LaDawn draws inspiration from. The other person is none other than her daughter Celeste. When Celeste noticed LaDawn going to the gym more often than usual and saw the results, she decided she wanted to do it, too. Pretty soon, LaDawn and her daughter were working out together. “We motivate each other, and we look forward to seeing each other and spending time together.”
